Computer Lessons

The first lesson I did was about how to key text. It was on the website http://activities.macmillanmh.com/reading/treasures/stories/teachcls.html. Scroll down until you find the 1st grade section, Unit 3. It tells you how to type text into a Word document. You can use this to do some kinds of schoolwork.

The second lesson I watched was on URLs. It is on http://activities.macmillanmh.com/reading/treasures/stories/teachcls.html. Scroll down until you find the 2nd grade section, Unit 3. This tells you that every website has its own URL. If you know the URL, you can go to a lot of different websites.

The third lesson I did was about how to access web pages. It was on http://activities.macmillanmh.com/reading/treasures/stories/teachcls.html. Scroll down until you find the 4th grade section, Unit 1. This tells you about how to access different web pages. It also talks about clicking links on pages to go to other ones.

Scratch

At first, Scratch did not seem very interesting. But then I remembered that when my mom used to work at Sylvan Learning they used a program very similar to Scratch. I had to think, but I then brought back the memory of how to work it. I finally realized that you can hit a key on the keyboard to start it. I made a man jump across a pool for some cheese puffs. It was easy to make the characters speak.

I thought it was hard to line it up correctly, but that may just be me. For mine to be animated, just hit the space bar. It was fun to have the freedom to make a small thing in class. I don't like that we had to write this paragraph about the project. I need to take it a little slower to improve. https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/330432391/
